Fatal Pedestrian Accident on South Watt Avenue in Sacramento

 
SACRAMENTO, CA (July 3, 2021) – A woman died in a pedestrian accident on South Watt Avenue at Fruitridge Road in unincorporated south Sacramento.
 
The accident happened just after 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 29. According to the Sacramento Police Department, the woman was crossing the roadway with a walker when a black Scion struck her.
 
Paramedics responded and found the woman with fatal injuries. They pronounced her dead at the scene.
 
The driver of the Scion remained on scene and cooperated with officers before being transported to a hospital with minor injuries.
 
Crews closed the roadway in both directions for hours as they cleared the wreckage. As of 8:40 p.m., the roads were reopened.
 
The identity of the victim was not immediately available. Further investigation is underway.
