Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Motorhome on San Luis Rey Mission Expressway in Oceanside

 
OCEANSIDE, CA (May 16, 2022) – A 56-year-old woman died in a pedestrian accident on San Luis Rey Mission Expressway in Oceanside, early Saturday morning on May 14.
 
The accident happened around 4:31 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 76 and Benet Road. According to the Oceanside Police Department, the woman was crossing the highway when a motorhome struck her.
 
As a result, the woman suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. She was not yet identified.
 
Police said the woman was violating the right of way of the motor home, which contained a husband and wife who were driving to camp at a beach.
 
It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol was involved. An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
