Woman Fatally Struck after San Diego Pedestrian Accident on Rosecrans Street and Hancock Street

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 22, 2022) — A woman died in a pedestrian accident on Rosecrans Street in the Midway District on Sunday, March 20.
 
According to San Diego police, a 61-year-old woman tried to “scoot” across a road when a car struck and killed her.
 
A bystander told police the woman tried to cross Rosecrans Street near Hancock Street in a sitting position. Then a vehicle hit her at about 10:00 p.m.
 
Police Officer Sarah Foster said the driver of the vehicle, a 53-year-old man, remained at the scene cooperated with investigators. The man told officers he did not notice the woman in the road when he drove over her.
 
The woman died before medics could take her to a hospital. Her identity was not immediately available.
