59-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Two Vehicles on Home Avenue in Fairmount Park

 
FAIRMOUNT PARK, CA (June 2, 2023) – A 59-year-old woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on Home Avenue in the Fairmount Park neighborhood early Wednesday morning on May 31.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the female pedestrian was walking in the 4100 block of Home Avenue outside of a crosswalk when a Chevrolet Colorado struck her just before 5:00 a.m.
 
The impact sent the woman into the first lane of Home Avenue. While she was lying in the roadway, a white pickup truck ran over her.
 
First responders performed life-saving measures on the woman, but she died at the scene.
 
The victim’s identity was not immediately available.
 
The two drivers both stayed on scene and cooperated with police.
 
Drugs or alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the crash. SDPD’s Traffic Division is handling the investigation.
