Woman Dies in Porterville Pedestrian Crash on Highway 190

 
PORTERVILLE, CA (July 30, 2021) — A woman died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 190 near Jaye Street Thursday morning.
 
According to Porterville Police Officers, the fatal crash happened around 5:00 a.m. For unknown reasons, a vehicle became disabled on the highway and was stopped in the westbound left-turn lane.
 
Soon after, a passenger exited the vehicle but was hit by an eastbound car driven by a 51-year-old man.
 
The unidentified woman suffered major injuries and died at Sierra View Medical Center. Meanwhile, the man who struck her stayed at the scene and cooperated with police investigators.
 
At this time, officers have ruled out impairment as a possible source of the accident. However, the crash remains under investigation.
