Woman Dies in Oakland Pedestrian Accident on Highway 13
OAKLAND, CA (February 11, 2021) — A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 13 near Broadway Terrace Wednesday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian crash took place around 12:20 p.m.
For unknown reasons, two people were standing outside of a Honda Civic near the right shoulder. Subsequently, a Toyota Tacoma crashed into the Honda, pushing it into the two pedestrians.
As a result, the female driver of the Honda suffered fatal injuries. Meanwhile, paramedics transported her passenger to Highland Hospital with major injuries and treated the Toyota driver at the scene for moderate injuries.
At this time, officers have not confirmed the cause of the accident. However, detectives plan to investigate this case further to determine the exact circumstances.
