Pedestrian Dies after Struck by SUV on East Santa Clara Street in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (April 29, 2023 – A woman was killed in a pedestrian accident at East Santa Clara Street and North Second Street on April 20.
 
Police said the driver of a 2021 Chevrolet SUV was reversing slowly on the west curb of Second Street when he hit a woman crossing the street in a unmarked crosswalk around 3:30 p.m.
 
The woman was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries and stabilized, police said. However, she died on April 22.
 
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office withheld her identity at this time.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the SUV remained on scene and cooperated with police.
