Woman Dies in Berkeley Pedestrian Crash near Ashby Avenue

 
BERKELEY, CA (July 28, 2021) — One woman died in a pedestrian accident near Ashby Avenue and Newbury Street Monday.
 
According to police, the fatal pedestrian crash happened before 10:00 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver struck two female pedestrians.
 
As a result, one woman, believed to be in her 50s, died in the accident while the other, believed to be in her 20s, suffered major injuries. Following the accident, the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. However, it’s unclear at this time what drove the accident.
