Woman Struck by Multiple Vehicles in Fatal Pedestrian Accident on 5 Freeway in San Diego

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (August 31, 2021) – Police confirmed that a woman died in a pedestrian accident on 5 Freeway on August 26.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near 15 Freeway around 4:50 AM.
 
Based on reports, the victim ran from the right shoulder toward the center divider of the freeway prior to the crash. Due to unknown reasons, multiple vehicles struck her. The number of vehicles that hit the pedestrian was not immediately clear.
 
As a result, the woman died in the incident. Officials did not yet release her name pending kin notification.
 
As of now, the incident remains under investigation by the San Diego Police Department. Also, no other details are available.
