Multi-Vehicle Accident on 5 Freeway in Elysian Park Area Kills 1 and Injures 7 Others

 
LOS ANGELES, CA (December 30, 2021) – A woman was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on Golden State (5) Freeway in Elysian Park area Friday morning.
 
The accident happened just after 8:00 a.m. on December 24, north of Arroyo Seco Parkway near Dodge Stadium. According to the California Highway Patrol, the 68-year-old Los Angeles woman was driving a 2002 Toyota coupe when she lost control and caused the chain-reaction crash involving a total of nine vehicles.
 
As a result of the crash, the woman suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Her name was not yet released at this time.
 
A 67-year-old woman, a 29-year-old woman and an 11-year-old girl were taken by paramedics to a hospital. Their conditions were unknown.
 
Four other people injured in the crash declined transport.
 
CHP are still investigating the accident.
