Pedestrian Dies in Hit-and-Run Accident on 4th Street

 
LONG BEACH, CA (December 30, 2021) — A woman died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on 4th Street at the Promenade on Monday evening.
 
According to the Long Beach Police, the fatal hit-and-run happened around 5:30 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver in a red pickup struck the woman and dragged her westbound on 4th Street until she became dislodged from the vehicle. As the pickup truck continued on 4th Street, an oncoming Chevrolet Camaro then struck the woman and dragged her to Pine Avenue.
 
Following the accident, paramedics responded and tried saving the woman, but the unidentified victim died shortly after. Meanwhile, the driver of the Chevrolet stayed at the scene and cooperated with police investigators.
