Woman Dies after Struck Twice on 710 Freeway in Long Beach, Including by Hit-and-Run Driver

LONG BEACH, CA (November 29, 2021) – A woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash on 710 Freeway in Long Beach early Monday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened around 3:00 a.m. on November 29, near the 405 Freeway. According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman had been involved in a collision that left her car disabled on the freeway. After that collision, she got out of her car and ran westbound across traffic lanes where an unknown vehicle struck her. The driver of that vehicle fled the scene before authorities arrived.
 
While the woman was lying in the roadway, a second driver in a Kenworth semi-tractor also hit the woman. That driver stayed on scene.
 
Paramedics arrived soon after and pronounced the woman dead at the scene.
 
Authorities only identified the victim as a 43-year-old Long Beach resident.
 
At this time, the hit-and-run suspect remains at large. An investigation is still ongoing.
