Head-On Accident on Olive Drive Overpass in Bakersfield Kills One Passenger

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 15, 2021) – A woman died in a head-on accident on Olive Drive overpass Saturday evening.
 
The fatal accident happened around 9:22 p.m. on August 14, over Highway 99. According to the California Highway Patrol, a Ford F-150 pickup truck went over the center divider and into the opposite lane for unknown reasons. It then collided head-on into a Ford Crown Victoria.
 
Two people in the Ford sedan were elderly women. The passenger died at the scene, while the driver suffered major injuries.
 
The female driver of the Ford pickup was also seriously injured.
 
Paramedics transported both drivers to a hospital for proper treatment.
 
CHP officials are still investigating the accident to determine the factors involved and liability.
