Head-On Accident on Amargosa Road in Hesperia Kills Teen Driver and Injures 1 Passenger

 
HESPERIA, CA (April 6, 2021) – A 19-year-old woman was killed in a head-on accident on Amargosa Road in Hesperia Thursday night last week.
 
The accident happened around 6:45 p.m. on April 1, between California Aqueduct and Palmetto Way.
 
Deputies said a red 2005 Mazda 6 was traveling north on Amargosa Road and a gray 2012 Ford Focus was traveling south on Amargosa Road. The driver of the Mazda lost control of the vehicle for unknown reasons and crossed over into oncoming traffic. The Focus then struck head-on into the Mazda.
 
Paramedics performed life-saving measures on the female teen driver of the Mazda, but the victim died at the scene. She was the sole occupant of the car.
 
The Ford Focus was occupied by the driver and two passengers, including a juvenile. An adult female passenger was transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries.
 
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the exact cause of the collision.
