Early Morning Fiery Hit-and-Run on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood Kills 1 Passenger
WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA (April 4, 2023) – A woman died in a fiery hit-and-run crash on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood early Monday morning.
The fatal crash happened around 2:30 a.m. on April 3, just near Roxbury Road. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a Tesla Model X was allegedly traveling at a high rate of speed when it lost control. It then struck a lamp post and a palm tree, causing the vehicle to burst into flames.
A total of four people were inside the Tesla when it crashed. The driver exited the car and fled the scene before it caught fire.
Two women were ejected from the vehicle.
The woman riding in the front passenger seat died at the scene. She was not yet identified.
The other two women riding in the back seat were taken to a local hospital. One was in stable condition and the other was critical.
At this time, an investigation into this fatality is underway.
