Early Morning DUI Crash on Grizzly Peak Boulevard in Oakland Hills Kills Passenger

 
OAKLAND, CA (December 21, 2022) – A woman died in a DUI crash on Grizzly Peak Boulevard in the Oakland hills early Tuesday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened around 12:44 a.m. on December 20, in the 3800 block of Grizzly Peak Boulevard west of Fish Ranch Road. According to the Oakland Police Department, a 48-year-old Antioch man was driving a vehicle with the 44-year-old woman who was also from Antioch.
 
The vehicle was heading eastbound and approaching a turn when it went off the roadway. It then went down an embankment some 200 feet before finally stopping.
 
The woman was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
 
Police said the man was in stable condition at a hospital. They arrested him on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter after investigators determined alcohol was a factor in the crash.
