Fatal Crash in Rancho Santa Margarita, Driver Dead and Cruz Melendez Injured

 
RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, CA (May 31, 2022) – A woman died and Cruz Melendez was injured in a two-vehicle accident in Rancho Santa Margarita on Tuesday evening, May 24.
 
The accident happened around 10:00 p.m. in the area of Antonio Parkway and Tijeras Creek Road. A woman’s vehicle slammed into a median and then hit the vehicle, driven by Melendez.
 
As a result, the woman suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Her passenger and Melendez were seriously injured.
 
Melendez is a 17-year-old junior at Trabuco Hills High School. He suffered several broken bones, his loved ones said.
