Driver Dies after Crash on 805 Freeway in City Heights

 
CITY HEIGHTS, CA (August 22, 2022) – A woman was killed in a car accident on 805 Freeway in City Heights on Saturday afternoon, August 20.
 
The accident happened around 12:55 p.m. near Home Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a silver Mazda hatchback was traveling south on the freeway when it lost control and crashed into the center divider.
 
When officers arrived, they located nine vehicles at the scene. A witness provided CPR to the woman who was driving the Mazda.
 
Paramedics then took the woman to a hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
 
The victim was a 30-year-old San Diego resident. Her name was withheld at this time.
 
The cause of the crash and factors involved remain under investigation.
