Woman Dies in Oakland Car Accident on 580 Freeway

 
OAKLAND, CA (February 19, 2021) — A woman was killed in a car accident on the 580 Freeway near Edwards Avenue Sunday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the call came in around 3:10 p.m. Shortly after, officers arrived at the scene to find a damaged green Plymouth Breeze in the freeway’s right shoulder.
 
There, officers found a female adult passenger deceased on arrival. In addition, they found the male driver with moderate injuries and contacted paramedics to transport him to a hospital.
 
At this time, officers have not determined the cause and circumstances of this crash. However, investigators believe another vehicle may have rear-ended the Plymouth before driving away.
