Bicyclist Dies after Struck by Vehicle on Highway 62 in Joshua Tree
JOSHUA TREE, CA (October 28, 2021) – A woman died in a bicycle accident on Highway 62 in Joshua Tree on Wednesday afternoon.
The accident happened around 2:24 p.m. on October 27, at the intersection with White Feather Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, the woman was riding her bicycle in the area when a Nissan struck her.
When officers arrived, they located the woman and the bike on the right shoulder. Paramedics attempted saving the woman, but the victim died at the scene.
The coroner’s office will release the victim’s identity once her family members are properly notified.
It is unknown at this time if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
