Scooter Crash on Orange Avenue in San Diego’s Corridor Neighborhood Leaves Woman Pinned Under Car

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (March 1, 2022) – A woman was injured in a scooter accident on Orange Avenue in San Diego’s Corridor neighborhood, early Friday morning.
 
At around 1:00 a.m. on February 25 crews were dispatched to the 3200 block of Orange Avenue after receiving a report of the scooter crash. When they arrived, they found the scooter’s female rider pinned under a car.
 
The woman’s foot appeared to be stuck under a tire, but paramedics were able to gently tug it free. A ground ambulance then transported the patient to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
 
It is unclear at this time what led to the scooter crash.
 
The San Diego Police Department is conducting an investigation.
 
When riding a scooter, always wear a helmet. Avoid riding scooters on rough terrain or uneven surfaces. Also, avoid riding at night or when it is harder for motorists to see you. Lastly, Do not drive at excessive speeds, and do not dart between lanes in traffic.
