Woman Hospitalized in Fresno Rollover Crash on Chestnut Avenue

FRESNO, CA (May 13, 2021) — A woman was injured in a rollover accident on Chestnut Avenue at Muscat Avenue Tuesday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 2:00 p.m. Upon arrival, officers learned that a northbound Kia driver tried making a left turn in front of an oncoming southbound GMC. As a result, the GMC driver swerved to avoid the crash but drove off the road and crashed into a chain-link fence. Subsequently, the GMC overturned and ejected a woman, who reportedly did not wear her seatbelt.

Fortunately, a boy and a girl wearing their seatbelts were unharmed in the crash.

Following the accident, police questioned the Kia driver at the scene, where they ruled out impairment as a cause. However, if anyone has more information, please contact the authorities.

To avoid a crash, practice safe and responsible driving. Only make your next move when the roads are clear and never expect other drivers to yield to you. Applying this mindset can help you drive defensively.
