TORRANCE, CA (June 18, 2021) — A woman sustained severe injuries in a pedestrian accident on Torrance Boulevard near Amie Avenue Tuesday morning.
 
According to the Torrance Police Department, the pedestrian accident took place around 9:32 a.m. For unknown reasons, a driver in an eastbound 1990 Honda Civic struck the 57-year-old outside of a marked crosswalk on Torrance Boulevard.
 
Shortly thereafter, police officers arrived and began life-saving measures on the victim who was subsequently treated by Torrance fire department personnel. Due to her injuries, paramedics had to transport her to a hospital in serious condition.
