Woman Hurt in Torrance Pedestrian Crash on Torrance Boulevard
TORRANCE, CA (June 18, 2021) — A woman sustained severe injuries in a pedestrian accident on Torrance Boulevard near Amie Avenue Tuesday morning.
According to the Torrance Police Department, the pedestrian accident took place around 9:32 a.m. For unknown reasons, a driver in an eastbound 1990 Honda Civic struck the 57-year-old outside of a marked crosswalk on Torrance Boulevard.
Shortly thereafter, police officers arrived and began life-saving measures on the victim who was subsequently treated by Torrance fire department personnel. Due to her injuries, paramedics had to transport her to a hospital in serious condition.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Honda stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police. As of now, investigators have not confirmed the cause of the crash but have ruled out impairment as a possible explanation. However, anyone with more insight into this case should contact the Torrance police.
