Woman Sustained Injuries in Pedestrian Crash on Telegraph Avenue at Derby Street

 
BERKELEY, CA (July 27, 2022) — A woman suffered injuries in a pedestrian accident on Telegraph Avenue on Monday, July 25.
 
According to Berkeley Police Department, the woman walked at around 4:50 p.m. across Telegraph Avenue at Derby Street. Then the driver, who had just turned left onto Telegraph traveled south from Derby and hit her.
 
Medics rushed the pedestrian, who is in her 50s, to Highland Hospital for treatment.
 
BPD said the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police. They ruled out alcohol or drugs as a factor in the incident.
 
Officials closed the streets around Telegraph and Derby for the on-scene investigation. They also diverted AC Transit buses from the intersection.
 
The investigation is ongoing.
