Woman Hurt in Pedestrian Crash on Gas Point Road

 
COTTONWOOD, CA (December 2, 2021) — A woman was injured in a pedestrian accident on Gas Point Road near the 5 Freeway.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian accident happened around 5:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, a woman was standing in the middle of Gas Point Road when an oncoming vehicle heading westbound struck her.
 
Soon after, emergency personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to Mercy Medical Center Redding with major injuries.
 
At this time, officers have not released information as to why the woman was standing in the road and the details of their investigation. However, the CHP plans to look into this case more closely.
