SAN DIEGO, CA (February 19, 2021) — A woman was injured in a hit-and-run accident at Carroll Canyon Road and Scranton Road Sunday morning.

According to a police officer, the incident happened in the Sorrento Valley community of San Diego.

Under circumstances that demand further investigation, a car performed a wide donut near a crowd. As a result, the crowd of spectators moved to the north to avoid being hit. However, a 25-year-old woman did not and was struck by the vehicle around midnight.

Shortly after, paramedics responded and transported the woman to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car, however, fled the scene.

At this time, detectives need witnesses’ help in identifying the driver.

If anyone has more information on the suspect and the dark blue sedan that may have sustained damage to the right quarter panel should contact investigators.
