EL SOBRANTE, CA (March 2, 2023) — A woman was injured, and two children were rescued, after a car and a crane truck crashed on the 80 Freeway near El Portal Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-vehicle crash happened around 7:00 a.m. Tuesday. Under unclear circumstances, a woman driving a green Camry with two children in the car collided with an orange crane truck. The car sustained significant damage, and paramedics took the woman to a hospital for her injuries.
 
Arriving firefighters helped usher a boy and a girl out of the Camry and released them to their grandfather. During the crash, a driver in a white semi-truck crashed into a barrier in an attempt to avoid the crash unfolding before him. The driver appeared to be okay as he shrugged off the damage.
 
There is no information on what led to the accident; however, an ongoing investigation should confirm the circumstances.
