Woman Hurt in Los Alamos Bicycle Crash on Highway 101
LOS ALAMOS, CA (July 29, 2021) — A woman sustained severe injuries in a bicycle accident on Highway 101 near San Antonio Boulevard Sunday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened in the 9100 block of Highway 101. Under unclear circumstances, a woman riding with three other bicyclists pedaled down a steep road, but somehow collided with a parked vehicle.
Upon noticing that the 31-year-old woman was nowhere to be found, the cyclists pedaled back to find her with head injuries and unconscious. Shortly thereafter, paramedics airlifted her to Santa Barbara Cottage hospital for treatment.
At this time, authorities have not confirmed the details of this crash. Although, they believe the victim might have struck the wheel of a parked vehicle while descending and ejected off of the bike. If anyone has more information on this crash, contact the CHP.
