Woman Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Othello Avenue at Convoy Street

SAN DIEGO, CA (June 8, 2022) — A 40-year-old woman died in a pedestrian accident on Othello Avenue on Tuesday, June 7.

According to the San Diego Police Department, the fatal accident happened just before 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

It occurred when the driver of a westbound Tesla ran a red light on Othello Avenue at Convoy Street. Then the vehicle struck a female pedestrian crossing the street.

Paramedics rushed the gravely injured pedestrian to a hospital. However, she still died from sustained injuries, SDPD Sgt. David Yu said. Authorities withheld her name pending family notification.

There are no reports if alcohol, drugs, or speed contributed to the incident.

The investigation of the crash is still ongoing.
