Woman Exiting Uber Car Hit by Driver, Injured on Market Street in San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA (April 11, 2022) — A woman exiting an Uber vehicle was hit by a car on Market Street near 1st Avenue on Thursday.

According to authorities, the incident happened in the Gaslamp District around 9:10 p.m. Upon exiting an Uber vehicle in the 500 block of Market Street, a woman stepped out right before a Chevrolet Suburban struck her.

In the investigation, authorities learned that the Uber sedan had stopped in the westbound No. 2 lane of Market Street ahead of the SUV, which parked on the north curb. Subsequently, the Chevrolet driver pulled out from the curb and struck her.
