Woman Killed in Wasco Wrong-Way Crash on Palm Avenue

WASCO, CA (December 15, 2021) — A woman died in a wrong-way accident on Palm Avenue near Taussig Avenue on Tuesday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the two-car crash happened during wet road conditions. For unclear reasons, a woman in a northbound Honda Accord veered to the right shoulder.
Subsequently, she overcorrected to the left, causing the vehicle to rotate into the southbound lanes in front of an oncoming Chevy 2500 pickup truck.
With no time to react, the Chevy driver collided with the Honda Accord.
As a result of the devastating crash, the 26-year-old Wasco woman suffered fatal injuries. Authorities have not released her name.
At this time, investigators have not confirmed the causes of the accident and have ruled out DUI as an explanation. However, anyone with information should contact the CHP.
