Woman Killed in Alleged DUI Crash on Buckman Springs Road

 
CAMPO, CA (June 15, 2021) — A woman died in a suspected DUI accident on Buckman Springs Road near Lake Morena Drive Wednesday morning.
 
According to authorities, the fatal crash happened around 3:30 a.m. For DUI-related reasons, a 35-year-old man allowed his 2004 Toyota Scion XA to drift to the east shoulder. Subsequently, he lost control, slammed into a mailbox, veered across the road and slammed into a tree before overturning.
 
Per reports, neither he nor his 26-year-old female passenger was wearing a seatbelt and ejected from the vehicle. Unfortunately, the woman died in the accident and the man sustained major injuries in the crash.
 
As of now, investigators have arrested the driver on suspicion of DUI and manslaughter. Although, if anyone has more information on this crash, please contact the California Highway Patrol.
