Woman Killed in Susanville Single-Car Crash on Highway 44

 
SUSANVILLE, CA (December 8, 2021) — A woman died in a solo-car accident on Highway 44 near the Bogard Rest Area on November 22.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 5:30 p.m. For unknown reasons, a 68-year-old Roseburg, Ore., driver lost control of a 2015 Ford 3/4-ton truck on Highway 44. Subsequently, the truck veered left, went off the road, and struck a small tree and large tree.
 
Due to the accident and the fact that the female passenger was not restrained, she suffered fatal wounds in the crash.
 
Meanwhile, emergency personnel responded and airlifted the driver to Mercy Hospital in critical condition.
 
At this time, the CHP officers have not released information on what drove the accident. However, an ongoing investigation into this crash should establish these details.
