1 Killed in Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident on Stockdale Highway

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (January 18, 2021) — A woman lost her life in a pedestrian accident on Stockdale Highway Saturday night in southwest Bakersfield.
 
Officers and other emergency personnel responded to the scene at 5100 Stockdale Highway at about 6:10 p.m.
 
According to the Bakersfield police, the woman was holding a small dog while crossing northward from Stockdale Highway at Village Lane when an SUV struck her. The pedestrian was in a crosswalk, while the SUV was traveling eastbound, at the time of the collision.
 
First responders found the woman with major injuries down in the roadway. She passed away at the scene and has not been publicly identified. Her dog survived.
 
Meanwhile, the female driver of the SUV stopped and remained at the scene. She was cooperative in the investigation as per the officers.
