Woman Killed in Fresno Pedestrian Crash on Highway 99

 
FRESNO, CA (August 30, 2021) — A woman died in a pedestrian accident on Highway 99 near Ashlan Avenue.
 
According to investigators, the fatal crash happened around 4:15 a.m. For unknown reasons, the female pedestrian believed to be in her 40s ran across the road. Subsequently, an oncoming driver in a Chevy Silverado heading northbound on the highway struck the woman.
 
Soon after, the driver contacted 911 and waited for authorities. However, upon arrival, paramedics pronounced her deceased at the scene.
 
At this time, authorities have not confirmed the ultimate cause of the crash. However, if anyone has more information on this accident, please contact the California Highway Patrol.
