Woman Killed in San Pablo Pedestrian Crash on El Portal Drive On-Ramp

 
SAN PABLO, CA (January 4, 2022) — A woman died in a pedestrian accident on the El Portal Drive on-ramp to the 80 Freeway on Monday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident occurred around 2:55 a.m. Under unclear road conditions, a driver in a Ford F-150 struck the woman who began walking across the El Portal Drive on-ramp.
 
Immediately after, the driver brought the woman into his vehicle to drive her to a hospital. However, the woman died on the way.
 
Shortly after, the driver stopped near 12th Street and Barrett Avenue where authorities responded to investigate.
 
At this time, CHP officers do not believe in DUI played a role in the accident. However, an ongoing investigation continues.
