Woman Killed in Electric Bicycle Accident on San Juan Creek Trail

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, CA (September 27, 2021) — A woman died in an electric bicycle accident on San Juan Creek Trail near Creekside Park Saturday night.
 
According to the Orange County Sheriff’s Department, the incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a woman in her 30s, operating an electric bike with two children under the age of five, crashed. Soon after, Orange County Fire Authority responded just north of Creekside Park to find the woman with severe injuries.
 
Although both children and the woman received immediate care, the woman died moments later.
 
At this time, officials have not confirmed the speed at which the bike was traveling or the children’s current conditions. However, police are investigating the accident at this time. We will update the information once we receive news.
