APPLE VALLEY, CA (June 10, 2022) — A woman died in a car crash on Highway 18 near Rimrock Road on Thursday afternoon.
 
According to reports, the deadly two-vehicle accident happened around 3:00 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a dark gray van crashed into a dark-colored four-door sedan.
 
Soon after, firefighters with the Apple Valley Fire Protection District responded to the scene and found the female driver of the sedan with fatal injuries.
 
In addition, a dog riding with her also died.
 
Following the accident, paramedics airlifted her passenger to a trauma center while medics tended to the driver of the van who suffered minor injuries.
 
At this time, information regarding the cause of the crash appears unclear. However, an ongoing investigation should clarify any outstanding details.
