BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 9, 2021) — A woman died in a car accident on Highway 178 near Union Avenue, Wednesday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal crash happened around 2:48 p.m. For unknown reasons, a female driver in a white sedan crashed into a pickup truck. As a result of the impact, her sedan spun out and ejected her from the vehicle.
 
Soon after, paramedics responded and determined that the woman suffered fatal injuries. Meanwhile, authorities interviewed the pickup truck driver who was not injured in the crash.
 
At this time, authorities have not released information as to what drove the accident. However, an ongoing investigation should confirm the details.
