DUI Driver Arrested after Hit-and-Run on Palm Avenue near Olive Avenue in Fresno

FRESNO, CA (February 11, 2022) – A 25-year-old woman sustained serious injuries following a hit-and-run collision on Palm Avenue, Thursday evening.

According to the Fresno Police Department, the incident happened on February 10 at about 6:00 p.m. Due to unknown circumstances, a white SUV and a blue pickup truck collided.

As per reports, the blue pickup truck did not stop, so the SUV driver chased the fleeing driver.

Then, the pickup truck entered the intersection against a red light and hit a pedestrian. The collision caused the pickup truck to lose control and slam into a bus bench and a nearby fence near Olive Avenue.

The SUV driver pulled over and rendered aid to the victim. A short time later, the SUV driver saw the pickup driver fleeing the scene on foot. So, the SUV driver chased the fleeing driver and brought him back to the scene.

Officers later arrested the 27-year-old pickup truck driver, who is now facing multiple charges.

Medical personnel rushed the pedestrian to the Fresno Community Regional Medical Center, where she remains in critical but stable condition.

Fresno police continue to investigate the accident.
