Virginia Meza Hit, Killed by Hit-and-Run Tow Truck Driver on St. Andrews Place at 48th Street
SOUTH LOS ANGELES, CA (August 9, 2022) — Virginia Meza was struck and killed by a hit-and-run tow truck driver on St. Andrews Place at 48th Street.
According to Los Angeles Police, the hit-and-run pedestrian accident happened around 8:00 p.m. on Saturday.
For unknown reasons, a tow truck bearing down South Los Angeles Street struck 68-year-old Meza on St. Andrews Place and 48th Street as she was getting something from her vehicle.
The driver of the truck fled the scene and is still on the loose.
Paramedics and authorities responded soon after and rushed Meza, whom they found crushed into the door of her Toyota, to a hospital.
However, despite life-saving efforts, medical staff pronounced her dead at the hospital.
