BAKERSFIELD, CA (December 21, 2021) — Victor Lopez Jr. died in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident on Highway 184 near Farmers Lane on Saturday evening.
 
According to officers, the fatal hit-and-run happened around 6:06 p.m. For unknown reasons, a driver in an unknown make and model fled the scene after hitting 44-year-old Lopez.
 
Due to the nature of the crash, the Bakersfield man died in the accident.
 
At this time, investigators believe alcohol and drugs factor into this crash. However, the hit-and-run driver remains unaccounted for. Therefore, anyone with more information should contact the California Highway Patrol.
