Pregnant Woman Robbi Megazzi Suffers Internal Bleeding, Loses Baby in Linda DUI Accident

 
LINDA, CA (February 25, 2021) – An unborn child died in a DUI accident early Tuesday morning on Hammonton Smartsville Road.
 
The accident happened just before 5:00 a.m., February 23 near Happy Way. CHP officials said 44-year-old Anthony Smith of Marysville was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe at approximately 45 mph. For unknown reasons, he crossed into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a 2005 Toyota 4Runner.
 
As a result, the pregnant driver of the 4Runner, 31-year-old Robbi Megazzi of Marysville, suffered internal bleeding in her chest.
 
Paramedics rushed Megazzi to Rideout Medical Center, where her unborn child was declared dead.
 
Meanwhile, Smith sustained a fracture to his right leg and was also taken to a hospital. Police later arrested him on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
 
Both vehicles were seriously damaged from the crash. An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
