2 Women Struck, Injured by Vehicle on Grand Avenue

ANAHEIM, CA (July 7, 2021) — Two women were hit and injured by a truck on Grand Avenue near Lincoln Avenue on the Fourth of July.

According to Anaheim police, the crash happened around 9:40 p.m. Under circumstances that require more investigation, a driver of a Chevy pickup struck two women watching fireworks.

As a result, the victims, ages 22 and 44, suffered major injuries. Soon after, police detained the driver and ruled out DUI as a possible source of the accident. However, witnesses say the driver was doing doughnuts when the car jumped a curb and struck a crowd.

At this time, authorities are looking at all angles. However, if anyone has more information, please call the Anaheim police department.

When driving through large crowds, proceed with caution. Pedestrians and drivers often get distracted, but that is why everyone should pay better attention to the road. Look out for oncoming vehicles or people crossing. Being aware increases your chances of safety.
