Good Samaritans Assist Two Injured in Car Accident on Highway 99

 
MADERA, CA (March 14, 2022) — A car accident on Highway 99 left two people trapped inside a vehicle in the Madera area.
 
The incident happened Sunday, March 6, according to the California Highway Patrol. CHP said the vehicle ended up on its side.
 
Three officers of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), assisted the injured parties while waiting for officers and paramedics to arrive. Together with some bystanders, Officers C. Reyes, A. Fernandez, and J. Castillo safely pulled the male occupant out of the vehicle.
 
When the fire crew arrived, they subsequently used the Jaws of Life tool to get the woman out safely.
 
Both occupants of the vehicle received medical attention in a local hospital. Meantime, there was no additional information as to what caused the crash and how it unfolded.
