Hit-and-Run Driver Crashes Car into Light Pole on 8 Freeway in Ocean Beach Leaving 2 Passengers Injured

 
OCEAN BEACH, CA (April 5, 2022) – Two men were hurt in a hit-and-run crash on 8 Freeway in Ocean Beach, late Thursday evening.
 
The crash happened around 10:15 p.m. on March 31 at Sunset Cliffs Boulevard. According to the San Diego Police Department, a Scion XB was traveling on the freeway when it lost control and slammed into a traffic light pole.
 
After the crash, the driver got out the car and left, leaving his two male passengers behind with injuries. The men were ages 32 and 34.
 
At this time, the driver remains at large. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
