Two Die in Shasta County Two-Car Accident on Highway 44
SHASTA COUNTY, CA (March 15, 2021) — Two people were killed in a two-car accident on Highway 44 near Bridge Creek Road Thursday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened around 5:40 p.m. Upon arriving, officials found a passenger vehicle and a Toyota pickup truck with damage.
In their investigation, CHP confirmed that two people inside the passenger vehicle had died in the crash. Meanwhile, the driver in the pickup truck escaped harm.
According to detectives, the passenger vehicle purportedly lost control on a curve while traveling eastbound. As a result, the vehicle spun into the oncoming traffic, where it slammed into the Toyota.
At this time, officers have ruled out alcohol and drugs as possible factors in the crash. However, witnesses with information on this two-car accident on Highway 44 should contact the CHP.
