Pickup Truck Crashes into Train on Highway 65 in Yuba County, 2 Men Killed

 
YUBA COUNTY, CA (August 24, 2022) – Two people died in a train and car accident on Highway 65 in Yuba County on Sunday, August 21.
 
The accident happened around 1:00 p.m. at Dairy Road near the Wheatland area. According to the California Highway Patrol, a black 2003 Chevrolet Silverado was heading eastbound when it attempted to navigate an uncontrolled railroad crossing.
 
The locomotive engineer honked the horn numerous times to no avail. The train then collided with the right side of the pickup truck.
 
As a result, the male driver of the pickup and his 31-year-old male passenger both died at the scene.
 
At this time, the identities of the two deceased were not immediately available.
 
This fatal crash remains under investigation.
