Fatal Plane Crash at Hathaway and Ramsey Streets

 
BANNING, CA (July 31, 2021) – Two people died in a plane crash at Hathaway Street and Ramsey Street Friday morning.
 
The plane crashed around 9:35 a.m. on July 30, in a vacant lot about two miles from the Banning Municipal Airport. According to the Riverside County Fire Department, there were two people aboard in the small plane when it crashed for unknown reasons.
 
Both people on the plane died at the scene, the fire department reported. Their names were withheld pending family notification.
 
The crash ignited a small fire, but firefighters quickly extinguished the flame.
 
There were no injuries reported to anyone on the ground.
 
FAA will release the aircraft tail number after investigators verify it at the scene.
 
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.
