2-Seater Aircraft Crashes on Garlock Road Killing Two People

 
RIDGECREST, CA (November 14, 2021) – Two people were killed in a plane crash near Garlock Road southwest of Ridgecrest Friday afternoon.
 
The crash happened around 2:15 p.m. on November 12, near Highway 395 just north of Randsburg. According to the Kern County Fire Department, a two-seater aircraft crashed near a landing strip, killing two people.
 
Witnesses riding their dirt bikes saw the small, black and red plane turned in the air and disappeared behind a hill.
 
The FAA spokesperson said the plane was a single-engine Zenith STOL CH-701. The aircraft can house two people, according to the Zenith Aircraft Company’s website.
 
The identities of the deceased have not been released.
 
The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.
